What colors are currently available here in the states? Are we getting that touring red color and the yellow and green?

Yes.

According the downloadable catalog ( http://www.vespa.com/us_EN/brochure-download.html ). Who knew there were so may GTSs.

GTS Supersport : grigio titanio (gray), giallo gelosia (yellow)
GTS Touring: rosso vignola (a bit like vintage red)
GTS: grigio dolomiti (gray), nero vulcano (black), azzurro incanto (slate blue), beige eleganza (elegent beige )
GTS Super: nero lucido (black), rosso passione (bright red), bianco innocenza (white), verde speranza (verde portofino with a hint of lime)
GTV: verde portofino (that nice metallic green they've had for many years)

The GTS Touring rosso vignola

We won't all be getting the yellow and green since those are limited edition colors. When I was looking for a green one I was told that there are only about 35 of the limited edition colors coming into the US. That comes from one of the dealers who showed the green on their website who when I called said, sure they'd order one for me. Only to call me back an hour later saying that there wasn't a single one available in the south central region (Texas to Wyoming, Missisippi river to Colorado). They weren't able to get any of the limited edition colors. All in all I talked to by phone or through their website over a dozen dealerships. Most of which tried to sell me something other than the one I wanted because that's what they had or could get.

I tracked down 2 dealers that were getting the limited edition colors. One never got back to me with a price and the other one I bought the green before it even arrived at the dealership. When I bought it that dealer said 5 of the 8 limited edition colors they had on order were already sold. The other dealer who didn't give me a price quote with the accessories I wanted had also presold some of their limited edition order. That was a couple weeks ago so it wouldn't surprise me if both dealers were sold out of the preordered limited eiditons.

So unless you know a dealer who preordered and hasn't yet sold them all those color at not really available. Black, white, dark gray, dragon red, a couple of shades of blue and any 70th Anniversary Editions that may still be available are what you can buy new right now.

FWIW, mine has arrived but is awaiting installation of parts and will be shipped to me. Photos when I get it.

This is the replacement for the GTS I sold earlier this year. A friend who had told me for years he wanted to buy it caught me in a moment of weakness so my custom blue GTS has had a new home since April. I may sell the Derbi to a friend IF she follows through with getting her motorcycle license. I refuse to sell it to her until get takes the MSF course.

Awesome that you found one! Saw a green one on Rockridge Two Wheels' Craigslist ad but it's not listed in inventory so likely sold. Probably for the best I don't find one nearby because with only 13k on mine, I can't justify a new GTS purchase at all. I really with I could see one in person though, not just pics.

You'll have a relatively rare coloured GTS stateside then. Did you mention in a previous post about getting some of the shiny made black? That would make it even rarer there. It is a beautiful colour.

It will be a work in progress on blacking out the chrome. To start with it will have black leg shield trim, brake levers and passenger foot rests. Adding front rack and rigid tail rack for top case also in black, Faco twin windshield, black exhaust cover, heavy bar end weights and mirrors. Eventually I want to replace the headlight rim and other chrome but there is this thing called budget so I'm not quite sure how much will be done though I do have the Classic Rack's Vespa cup holder on order. After all I may be riding it back to Houston so would need some place to store a drink.

Sounds like it'll look awesome with what you have planned for when it's delivered. Are you having the transmission cover blacked out as well? Naturally you'll post pics, yes? Glad you got the green one you wanted and are having it done up how you like. 8)

This green is the official color in background of the flag of Brazil. Those displayed indoors. It represents the Amazon forest.

Yeah, for the first time I may actually name a vehicle more than just "the GTS", "Beo" (Scarabeo 500), Honda, Buddy, ET, Sports City. She may actually end up being called Hope because Grasshopper is too long.

This is a very good question. Can someone such as CrazyCarl or brian n answer this question - or just post a photo of the left side of the front wheel of one of the '18 touring models. I'm sure there are a bunch of us who are curious.

Well, I just answered my own question. I was in the local Vespa dealer this morning. They had two 2018 GTS that has just come in. They do not have the ESS suspension. If it is correct that Vespa has gone back to the pre-ESS front suspension, I would say that is a step down and a reason to seek out a GTS with ESS. On the other hand, if this is a "type 3" front suspension, I guess the jury would still be out on whether it is a plus or minus.

The 2017s here still had ESS, but the 2018s in the States have switched to the configuration you show. We are always a year or two behind Europe . Thanks for posting.

What is a type 3 suspension? Does the 2018 GTS's have that or is it the same suspension they had before the ESS?

My European '17 has the safety shut off side stand with no snap back action.
Still nervous to use it though. It still feels like it doesn't extend enough.
And indeed, it does not have the ESS.

I assume if both of these things are being delivered in Europe in '17, that the North American '18's will have them.

Oh, and no more seat cover, and no basic tool kit (or even the box to hold it into the slot).

But the headset looks so much more clean.

Not necessarily as a side stand was never standard equipment on a GTS in the US.

A term I made up. If the pre-2015 front suspension is "type 1" and the ESS is "type 2" - I'm supposing you would call another redesign of the suspension "type 3". So far it is not clear whether the front suspension on the 2018 GTS is a redesign or not, just clear that it is not ESS.

I got a close look at my friend's green 2018 Super I shared a pic of above.

Came with side stand equipped with kill switch

There is a USB charger already built into the glove box.

I was sure I saw the tool kit holder still in the glove box, I pointed it out- but did not open it up and dig them out.

I did not confirm if the seat cover had been deleted.

AFAIK - toolkit and seat cover both now deleted from new models.

Cool thanks, the side stand was something I was really interested in.

I just confirmed the front suspension is the same as it was right before ESS.

Does the 2018 Vespa GTS's still have the ESS front suspension?

This is a very good question. Can someone such as CrazyCarl or brian n answer this question - or just post a photo of the left side of the front wheel of one of the '18 touring models. I'm sure there are a bunch of us who are curious.

I quick look at the book and I didn't find any specific mention of ESS, but here is an actual photo of the front left of the new 2018 GTS 300 Touring. Hope this helps if there is still a question.
